Broke up with deaf boyfriend

I broke up with my boyfriend who is deaf and he can't accept it.
He is 28 and this is his first serious relationship and he got very attached to me over the few months we have been together. I told him that I believe that there is someone for him out there that feels the same way about him, but he said that I'm just telling him that to make him feel better and that he'll never find someone and that he wants to be with me.

He goes back and forth between being angry that I have made this decision, to saying he wants to get back together with me

He said upfront that he wanted to be friends whether it worked out between us or not, but I don't know if it is possible right now bcoz he needs time to get over me.

He keeps on wanting to meet so that he can change my mind.

I am concerned with his ability to cope bcoz he is very introverted and antisocial so he doesn't have a support network and tends to isolate himself.

His housemate who is also deaf and has the same level of deafness but is more extroverted, and his housemates mother, always encourage him to get out there and mix with other people, but he has trouble doing this and tends to keep to himself, making it harder for him to make friends.

How can I deal with this guilt, even though I know I made the right decision for me? And how can I make it less harder on him than it already is?

" His housemate could/should help, he has the same issues and experiences as your boyfriend. Don't feel guilty for making the right decision, he needs to learn to cope with things. "
