My 12 year old daughter has profound sensory neural hearing loss in left hear and slight low frequency loss in left ear. She has difficulty expressing herself and her comprehension skills are poor. She has particular difficulty understanding idioms and takes things literally. Despite this she is doing well in other subjects, but I fear that with time her poor language skills will affect her other subjects. She was not diagnosed untill she was seven and I wonder has anyone else had a similar experience. I would be grateful for any advice.
