Advice:
Help to improve hearing (mild noise-induced loss)

I wish to know if anyone knows anything that will help improve hearing. I have very mild loss in my right ear.

The reason is that I attended a social event I didn't even really want to be at, but I wanted to see if I could make a friend. I sat 8m from a speaker for about 20 mins while I talked to someone. At the end of the event, I had mild hearing loss in my right ear and no friends. It was also Friday the 13th, not that that really worries me, it's just a "coincidence".

Although I can still hear quite well, it is annoying to have an inequality in my hearing. I like to listen to music and hope to make my own someday (electronically). I don't like very loud noises and I know when something is too loud. On the occasion above, I didn't move away when I should have.

I can guess at the frequency range I currently have:

Left: 18Hz to 17 500Hz, where it either tapers off or the . speakers/soundcard can't play the . high/low frequencies.

Right: 35Hz to 10 000Hz, where some low freq. response is lost . and the curve tapers off at 10 000. . Frequencies above 15 000Hz are . noticeably non-existant even at loud . volumes, except for a peak at 17 000Hz.

I know some of you would probably wish to have this hearing range, but since I used to have pretty good hearing, I just wish to get it back.

THE HOPE:

I was admitted to hospital after a crash, and when I was discharged, all my tinnitus was gone and hearing was better for about a week. Then it returned.

Also, I'm 18, so hopefully it can be repaired with some assistance.

(P.S. sorry for the long post, I usually explain things too much...) ;-)

" It's not bad enough to warrant hearing aids, and I am staying away from loud noises or using hearing protection.

It's just that I've read about certain vitamins and other things that may improve hearing slightly. "
