Frequency of sex

Hi,

I'm a 57 yr old male. I have always enjoyed sex. My wife (54) of 36 yrs did not enjoy it as much but she almost always granted my wishes. She was rarely the aggressor when she was it was very much appreciated. She liked getting oral but did not like to give it (less than 10 times in our relationship). I was getting sex 3-4, sometimes 5 times a week. All of a sudden she says she doesn't want sex anymore (she is not getting it anywhere else) I am and have been her only sex partner. She said her desire for sex has been declining for the past couple of months maybe 3, It started when 1 yr annversary of Dday was approaching. Our counselor thinks I am oversexed and my wife thinks so too. Does anyone know what would be a normal range of frequency a man of my age.

" I looked it up on WebMD and according to the survery most men in there 50's rated just below a man in his 20's.
It's different for a woman. So alot of times the husband isn't as demanding as he really wants to be. So you are probably pretty normal I think. It didn't say anything about frequency. Just that having a good libido was normal. "

" I wouldn't say that you're over-sexed; it's nobody's "fault" that your sex drive is different to your wife's.
I'm wondering whether your wife is going through the menopause, or is there possibly some other medical reason why her sex drive is declining? It might be worth her seeing a doctor, to rule out any serious problems and also to see whether hormone therapy is an option. "

" I agree with the others who think this amount sounds healthy. studys have shown that regular sex even helps people live longer and happier lives. "

" She is probably going through menopause. I have a very high sex drive to but when my wife went through menopause her desire ended to. I would love to have it 3 to 5 or more times a week but know that I would be lucky to get it once every month to 6 weeks. You just hang in there buddy, it is not going to get any better. "

" everything i have read states that sex should be at least once a week in a healthy relationship, if that's too little for you, just handle yourself, which can sometimes be more fun.... "
