I hae been woth my husband for 13 years. At the beginning he had a DWI and nlicense for about 2 years. He finally got it together for awhile. Then for about 4 years he worked but no t steady and I kept us a float and with insurance and all that good stuff. He finally got a good job with the state in Aug 2008 then in Feb 2009 he was arrested for DWI. Now as of Nov 10 he has no job, no license, no health insurance for the family, 2 days in county jail and he will not be able to get his job back. So is it stupid to stay> We have a 10 year old daughter that he has had to explain all this to as well I am so confused I want to rely on him but I cant.

" I think that you will have to make that ultimate decision. Best I can say to you is to weigh out your options. If you feel he can pull himself out of the rut he is in and you still love him perhaps you both can make it work by counseling and making steps together for a more positive future.

If on the other hand you do not feel he will change or if the risk is just too great hoping he will change to make a better life for not just himself but for you and your child then you may want to consider moving on or at least try a trial separation and get yourself in a position where you know you can provide all that you and your little one need on your own.

There are just no guarantees on how things will go and you know your husband better then anyone else does. I just know that you should not make your decision out of anger, sort your thoughts out carefully and consider all steps you can make to make things better for your future as then you will not end up making hasty decisions that you might regret later on. Best wishes and I hope you find happier days ahead very soon. "

" He may have that once in awhile alcohol problem. My dad did, and it nearly ruined his career, which was the only thing he cared about. He had to go to treatment. My mother stayed with him the entire time but she was a broken woman untill her death. "
