i want to know if i am eating healthy:
in the morning i have cereal and apple for breakfast before going to work
then i take for lunch with me, veg soup and fish (or grilled chicken) and another apple
evening i take veg soup, or cereal, the veg soup has peaces of meat in it, like veal or other lean meat and lentils , tomatoes , barley....
fish sometimes makes me nauseas as boiled fish tastes bad to me, but my mother says it's very important i should take them with veg....i cannot eat bread or fats because i have ibs. do you think it is a healthy diet since i have ibs and need to loose some weight? i also exercise 20 mins a day, its vigrous exercise coz i really swet afterwards... if i need to correct my diet please let me know, since i used to live off pizzas, burgers, chips, bread butter cheese etc...i need to forget about eating for fun and live off food only to sustain living and be free of obesity.

" What kind of cereal are you eating? Take a close look at the ingredients as I have cereal for breakfast as well, but it's just plain 5grain porridge cooked with water and with a bit of dried fruit and cinnamon added. Cereal could also be Froot Loops and we all know that stuff is very bad.

The fish is excellent for your health, but I would never boil fish! Even the thought of boiled fish is gross in my mind. I bake all the kinds of fish I eat - just put the piece of fish in tin foil with a bit of lemon pepper on it, then close up the foil and bake till the fish is flaky. You can also get canned tuna or salmon but look for the cans with no salt added. You will be getting just the fish.

There are dozens of varieties of fish, and I don't like them all. I get a piece of several different kinds to add variety to my diet. Cod, Sole, Haddock, Monk, Snapper, etc. I do have favorites, so try some to find the ones you like.

For the oil, you do need oils in your diet so you may need to take a supplement. "

" My husband is a fisherman so I will add a little to what was already said. To me if your going to eat fish. Eat it for the high Omega 3. Not all fish are high in Omega 3. Wild Sockeye Salmon is a excellent choice. It comes from cleaner water than many fish. You should also pick wild fish over farm raised because they are not swimming in there own filth and raised on antibiotics or artificially colored. Large predatory fish are always higher in mercury and should be limited. Tuna is a excellent source of Omega 3 too. Albacore is a smaller fish than blue fin and yellow fin tuna. The albacore will be lower in mercury than the other tuna's, but still should be limited. Here is some Omega 3 levels in common fish. http://www.rd.com/living-healthy/o... "

" salmon is my favorite dish, in restaurants i prefer to order salmon salad or salmon stake, no more pizza, i will check out the link, i had chicken meal today, although at times i prefer to eat only vegetable and fruits and cereals in the morning, i looked at (maybe you will say i'm too obsessed or am ruining my health) victoria becham diet, she is eating just fruit, do you think it is good? my mother forces me to eat meat, but i don't like meat too much, although i like salmon, but at times eating just veg and exercise can make one feel better? i know not enough calories in diets, and probably you won't agree with me that i should diet like some famous people would, it's kind of starvation, and i read many articles online that these people eventually when they give up diet they will gain back their weight or get severe anorexia which they can never get out from, so i think i must stick to vegan+fish+chicken+rice+oatmeal+rabbit diet with plenty of orange and apples i have a peace or two brown bread three times a week or twice a week sometimes toasted...i will take a look at the site regarding fish, don't worry i don't fancy fish that come from the swardfish family....i know it contains such chemicals that can kill a person (cause cancer just heard it also on a maltese magazine that s.fish causes cancer but not sure, there is another kind of the same fish family in maltese we call 'cerna' it's same like sward fish but is white, but i'm sure if you know about which fish i'm talking you will definately agree with me that it comes from the swardfish family.)....
Write back and thanks "

" I think your talking about what we call grouper. It is not part of the Swordfish family. Swordfish are the only members of the swordfish family. "

" i see..., i am more fond about salmon, and tuna, and those fish they sell on the market, those that we also catch while fishing outside in the sea...octopus is also not good diet, and also most crustacians coz of high cholasterol content, although i have low cholasterol, but i'm not eating those kind of fish because i heard they are fatty. " I admit to worrying when you talk about not eating for enjoyment, only to sustain health. How long can that last? A lot of times when we try to do this, we end up going off the deep end and binging. It's better to allow yourself some treats/goodies now and again. And those treats do not even have to be unhealthy or fattening if you take the time and effort to re-work them. For example, a dessert of non-fat sugar free pudding with a dollop of fat-free whipped topping has about 50 calories, but is a really satisfying sweet treat. "

" thanks. i had to stop the artificial sweteners because i think they were causing me a lot of pain due to ibs, anything related to sugar and fats make me feel irritated, (actually my intestines are disordered due to ibs).. i have raw vegetables for snaking , mostly raw mushrooms i really like them, i take brown bread in the morning, one peace because i'm gluten sensitive , with some eg whites...probiotic yoghourt is a must for my digestion problem. (c) i started eating fish at lunch time, and a big piece of chicken breast (grilled with little sprouts and some potatoe(two pieces) the rest veg, before 6 pm, i have something light like broth before going to bed, and i am drinkng lot of water after my last meal. i like to have frequent teas, i add just skimmed milk nothing more. occasionally i have canned tuna in brine, or rio mare canned salad. (i eat it only once to twice a week) i am trying to avoid canned food so that i can eat more natural foods, although i like it but i take it only as i said 'on occasion' . anyway thanks for your advices...it's true im afraid of food lately because of my problem, but i'm trying not to be afraid and at least eat small meals spaced by four to six hours....
