Culturelle

The yogurt topic got me to think to ask if anyone has used Culturelle? I seen it recomended by some respected people in the health industry. I have taken simular products but not any that have Lactobacillus GG. My grandson has had tummy problems all his life. He is allergic to milk so I thought this might help. Website says...

THE SKINNY ON YOGURT Most yogurts are packaged with 1 billion live good cells – far less than the 10 billion in each capsule of Culturelle. Our probiotic strain, Lactobacillus GG, has also been proven to better stick and multiply in the digestive tract.

" I'm not familiar with Culturelle myself, but I know that there are concerns about the probiotic drinks available in the UK - apparently a lot of people have had terrible stomach problems when they stop taking them.
My own gut feeling (forgive the pun!) is that I'd rather stick with natural yogurt - might be more slow-acting but that's not necessarily a bad thing. "

" It should not make you overlook the rest of the contents in the yogurt.
Watch out for the fat, the sodium, and the sugar in your yogurts.

You may find that good has been added but there is also a great deal of bad in it.

if you want this probiotic type stuff, why not look to a health food store; if you look in their coolers, you will find tons of healthy items to add to your foods. "

" This is not a yogurt it is a in pill form. They claim most probiotics are killed with the acids of your stomach where this type (Lactobacillus GG) is not. "

" I have 2 probiotics I have taken. PB-8 which I have used to make my own yogurt, back when I did the dairy thing. And Garden of Life Primal Defense Ultra. And I can say that not all probiotics are created equally.

Garden of Life, 1 capsule twice a day is great. PB-8, that 8 is there for a reason....it takes about 8 of them to get the same results as 2 Primal Defense. For best results, take them on an empty stomach so there is no HCL acid in the stomach and they pass through to the gut intact.

I like that they have a super size bottle too! 180 caps instead of 30. The price is better that way too! "
