I put this on the other weight loss groups and eating healthy is part of that so here is what I wrote:
I have struggled with my weight all my life. I've had to deal with some nasty things In my life. I was abused by my father and neglected by my mother most of the time. I ate whatever was in the house because that's all I could eat. I had to make my own food and that usually consisted of mac and cheese or mini pizzas you heat up in the microwave. I had to teach myself how to do everything at a young age because no one else would take the time to teach me. Do to this It created bad eating habits for me and I always hid in my room away from my dad ( Lack of exersize) by the time 8th grade rolled around I was 175 the biggest I had been in my entire life. My dad started coming into my room when he was drunk yada yada abuse. So My room was no longer safe. During this time I was also extremely depressed. So guess what I did? I walked and walked and walked and kept on walking. I would walk when it was -10 degrees in just a sweatshirt and in 100 degrees. I would walk untill I got blisters and the inside of my legs became raw. I'd wake at 6 in the morning or 10 at night I didn't care I loved it and didnt want to stop it got me away from the bad life I had. Well I lost weight and alot of it. I got down to 135 by the time I was 15 and I loved it. I was happy with how I looked for once in my life. I still ate the things I usually do I just walked it off so It didn't matter and do to the walking I ate less. I met my boyfriend in 10th grade and My life was still as miserable as ever untill I met him. he made me happy. I moved in with him to excape. What I didn't realize is they lived near a highway with no where to walk. I hated it there I couldn't walk I couldn't do anything we didn't eat untill 10 at night at most times but I was happy to be away from my house so I didn't care. that was untill I looked at the scale. 6 months in to living there 150 pounds, Okay whatever my weight fluctuates. 1 year into living there 180 Maybe this is going to far 1 and a half years living there 200 I can't do this anymore. 2 years living there and being at 220 pounds Id had enough and moved back home now 1 into living back at my house my father passed away christmas day and I am moving to an apartment with the boyfriend and a married couple who are our close friends. I'm 18 now and weight 245 pounds. I am so ashamed I let myself get this way and am so hurt whenever I look at that scale. I want to be back to my 135 pound self when I was 16 but I don't know where to start. My whole life is changing drastically and I want my weight problems to change with it. But I am not motvated to do anything I just sit here. I created bad habits and I want to go back to the way I was before so I'm asking for help and I despreately need someone to coach me along with this I need to lose the 110 pounds I gained in the past 2 and a half years. I need to start off slow I can't just drop everything eat healthy and walk 3 hours a day. Being 5'3" and 245. The extra baggage is starting to hurt me. I was in a car accident and my knees have been messed up since. the weight is causeing them to be extremely painful at times. I have asthma already and walking upstairs or anything makes it very difficult to breath. I want to go back to my healthy active self. So my first question is where do I start? Hey!!! I am sorry about your life experiences, but the best thing to do is not blame other people and face the fact that what you put into your mouth and what you do every day is up to YOU and only you. Not your father who passed away, not your boyfriend, but you. You have SOOOOO much potential and you will become and amazing weight loss story. I would love to help out. Email me and I can help you with food tips...I can give you advice to working out, but I am not a trainer. I have my own personal experience to offer you and that's it. But hopefully I can help out.

Awesome that you're ready to start getting back to you healthy, active, self. I agree with HolisticStacey that you will become and amazing weight loss story if you want it, and especially if you have the right plan.
These sorts of plans should be tailor-made to you, since it is you, and only you, who can make or break your own success. But first off, it's ALWAYS a good idea to consult your doctor before embarking on a weight loss plan. Check out this QA from Sharcare.com's Health Reference site: What should I do before starting a weight-loss program? http://www.sharecare.com/question/b... There's a lot of great responses there from trusted professionals in the medical and wellness industries. Check out this one too: Why is slow weight loss better than fast weight loss? http://www.sharecare.com/question/w... RealAge.com has a good article on the topic of how to choose a diet, you can see that one here: http://www.realage.com/food/how-to-... Also, don't forget to utilize all of the great information and support here on DailyStrength. One thing I fully recommend is using the goal setting feature here on DS. More information on how to do that can be found here on the DS FAQ: http://www.dailystrength.org/conten... Hope this helps! Best of luck to you in your plan, and I hope you find the healthy success you're looking for :-)
