Hey, tomorrow i'm starting a new healthy lifestyle of eating healthily, regularly and exercising since i've been living very unhealthily for the last 2 years or so. I have very little cooking experience but much success with the little cooking i have done.

I often choose not to eat healthily because food takes a long time to prepare. Can anybody suggest some quick, easy but healthy meals i can eat, that dont require much preparation time. Foods that aid my mental processing and give me the energy to exercise in particular would be nice.

Thanks in advance :)

" Tuna salad with an egg is one of my favorite.

Buy a bunch of veggies for the salad and chop them up and store pre cut in the fridge. You can then whip up a salad in a few seconds. Good things to add to you salad are small cans of tuna, egg, potatoes, lentils, a chicken breast, smoked salmon.

A great dressing is crushed garlic mixed into some sourcream, season with salt and pepper. I also add all the fresh mixed herbs i have for flavor, chives, basil, thyme, oregano (what ever you have really). A teaspoon is then plenty to add a little kick to the salad.

When it comes down to it preparation is key. I do big cookout during the weekend when i have an hour or two, then i freeze down meals that i can then reheat in a few minutes. If you arent really at that stage yet, just preparing your veggies for salads is a very good start. "

" Make up a big batch of a healthy soup or casserole type dish that takes your fancy when you aren't busy and eat it for dinner/lunch for a few days and freeze some too if you can.

Try to pick a recipe that has a combination of lots of veggies, some protein and some sort of carb for energy.

These type of meals can be very economical and good for you. Just use less oil or other fatty things than the recipes say and you'll be doing fine. "

" When I was in college ( just graduated in May) I was cooking food for one. I hated making meals, yet I am VERY health conscious. I workout a decent amount and lost a ton of weight after going clean and changing my eating. I typically would make oatmeal every morning with cinnamon, flaxseed and berries. (sometimes almonds, but moderate since they are high in calories). If you need sweeten, try a little organic raw agave. I made smoothies too. Spinach, water, some mango and strawberries or pineapple and raspberries. This was a great lunch and you get a ton of fiber and your daily greens. (I would change it up and use kale or chard but it is more bitter). I did have one meal replacement shake that is low glycemic, DELICIOUS and very fast to make if you do not have much time or are just lazy. If you want to know more about the shake or any more of my quick meals email me. I would love to share. I am now 108lbs and 5'5 and healthier then ever before : )

I hope I helped. "
