" Glad you're on the mend now.
One that really helped sort me out when I was having trouble, was old-fashioned porridge oats.
Apparently they pass through the digestive system much more easily than other types of fibre - the cheap and natural way to give your system a spring-clean! "

" Benefiber does not have any of the health benefits that most fiber has. It dose not turn into a gel to remove cholesterol. It does not balance blood sugar. And if has none of the benefits of insoluble fiber that aid constipation either. Its a do nothing fiber.

25 grams a day is minamal that you should get. You can get up to 45 grams a day for good health. A healthy diet gives you all the fiber you need. You should need no additional supplements if your eating all your fruits and vegetables that you need in a day.

Eat your greens. A pot of greens is great fiber. Make a mixture of different greens for a variety of nutrition.

All CABBAGE AND CRUCIFER PLANTS. The cole crops are good nutrition and good for fiber.

Make veggie egg white scrambled eggs.

Add fresh berries to plain fat free yogurt of soy. ½ cup Raspberries gives you 9.2 grams of fiber.

Beans where already mentioned. Peas too. You can make hummus and stuff your hard boiled egg whites for a nice snack.

Yams and pumpkin are good seasonal fiber foods. "
