I've been eating really well for 3 weeks tomorrow. Since, friday I didn't log in my foods and didn't eat every 3 to 4 hrs as I had been. I was doing small portions spread out to keep blood sugar up.
So, last night I combined the wrong foods. For dinner I had high fiber rigatoni with white meat turkey in a spagetti sauce. And, may have eaten to much carbs. Most of my carbs have been coming from fruits and vegs. And, for my night snack I had mozz.sticks w/triscuits but ate and orange shortly after. I woke up this morning with the worst pain in my gut right above my navel like the food is not moving thru my system. It feels like sharp gas pains but the gas-x isn't working. I don't have any digestive enzymes and just feel so out of wack. This is the first time it has happened and I'm sure it's b/c I got of track with logging my foods in. It takes alot of concentration and discipline for me. Does anyone know a home remedy for getting my ph balance normal. Or, something that will neutralize my system? Thanks Cindy Posted on 05/10/09, 11:05 pm |

Don't have an answer for you, but do oranges normally bother you? My mother could not eat oranges as they gave her the same pain you just described. Just a thought.

JustBlue,
I am so overwhelmed with gratitude for the links you provided. I guess my mind and body is so slow down..sluggish being in this acidic state. 20 years ago I went to a school in Maryland for 2.5 months to become an esthetician and this was taught in our course. I guess that's why something jogged my memory to ask about it. I paid the $27.00 bucks to get the whole package. Its loads of material but I have to print it myself. Theres food charts and a journal, recipes, info. on acid/alka. etc. I am overwhelmed with what I have read thus far in the foods that I eat that are highly acidic. I'm going now to the kitchen and will pour some water and will add a pinch of baking soda with lemon. That was the first step recommended. I remember now how our teacher said it was very good to drink room temp/warm water in the morning with lemon for the colon and ph. Oh, one more thing. I freaked when I saw how acidic nutrasweet is. Geesh, no wonder I'm such a mess. Again, many thanks. BW

Well stomach acid is something I know something about LOL.
I've read everything I can get my hands on and my advice is to eat alkaline foods and foods that are easy to digest like brown rice, bananas, almonds, nut milk, cooked grains like amaranth, quinoa, millet, miso soup, black beans, avocados... I think anything processed is acidic. I'd avoid most fruits for a day or two (except bananas and applesauce). I might even give all raw foods a break. that's what I tend to do when I get an upset digestive tract. Steamed veggies seem much easier on the stomach than raw. Hope you are feeling better.

Thanks, Mechelle
I am feeling better and actually my appetite is slowly coming back. The gas pains are gone. I've been taking the probiotics and AloeVera. And, not combining the wrong foods. Wow, what a wake up call. Thanks for your support. BW
