food plan?

My pattern is to eat a small, but healthy bfast and lunch, then a large, junk food dinner -- iced layer cake, cookie dough, a pint of Ben and Jerry's, etc. I'd love to see the food plan of someone who had a similar habit and was able to change it.

" Well if I was you I would eat most of your calories in the morning. That way you have all day to burn them. When you eat bad at night, it's even worse for you. "

" I am exactly like you. The end of the day is the hardest. I just joined this group yesterday, and any and all advice would be great. I think just opening up and admitting my problem lifted a huge weight off my shoulders, and last night wasn't so bad. Keep us posted on how you are doing and what is working for you. "

" this is not normal. If you do this regularly you have got an eating disorder. i suggest you look at someone who is a healthy weight who does not have an ED and who is not on a diet. Moniter what they eat for 2 weeks and try to copy them. "

" Make your small healthy lunch a large healthy lunch so you are not so hungry later on. Fill up with fresh whole foods. Start that, then stop buying all that junk food. If it is not in the house, you won't eat it, dig? "

" You've got to do what's going to work for you. I do not think copying someone will help. Observing what others do and trying out some of their stradegies is a good idea. Some may work for you, some may not. I agree with LuLu, eat more of your calories in the day when you have a chance to use them.
If you want to know how many calories you need, go to mypyramid.gov and put in all your stats & goals. It will calculate for you and it's free! "

" I am a binge eater too. I am trying to change that. what seems to work for me is keeping a record of all you eat. you'll be surprised how much sometimes. that in itself made me what to eat less. eat HEALTHY througout the day and you won't crave the carbs/sugars in the evening. its difficult the first few times but after that your cravings for the junk will soon disappear. " It's probably better to eat crappy food during the day rather than at night.
At least you won't go to sleep with all of that crap in your body trying to digest while your metobolism is at it's slowest. "

" I am convinced that sugar is addictive. When I go without eating it, I don't miss it at all. But, when I eat some, I HAVE to eat more. It quickly snowballs. I agree that if it's not in the house you won't eat it. Maybe you could find some recipes for healthier desserts to eat. That way if you still eat them, at least it's not as bad! "
