No matter our personal opinion of healthcare, public options, and government run healthcare, we need not be divided as Americans.
Posted 6 months ago, you will need a large bowl of popcorn to watch it, but this video contains many sad truths about Obama, Bush - all of them - that keep getting buried as we continue to allow career politicians to shape our debate. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eAa... The problem is, the system is set up so that only career politicians are habnded the power to make those changes. Not that I'm saying that's a good thing! What do you suggest instead?

Congress was never intended to be filled with career politicians. It was intended to be filled with representatives chosen by their neighbors. And, after having fulfilled their temporary obligation, they went back home to their jobs and plowed their fields.
They were not intended to become wards of the US Government - welfare recipients - and all peers were expected to protect the interests of not just their neighbors, but all Americans. Term Limit Them. Congress is the only entity which can vote against term limits. So we vote for zero incumbents and make a deal with all candidates: One Vote in return for that candidate SPONSORING and VOTING YES to staggered term limits, not to exceed 3 years, all reps and senators included. Until we re-learn to control them, they will continue to be corrupt and do stupid.

Agree that we have problem with career politicians -- many of which lose touch with what it feels like to just be a working citizen. Heard an awful story on radio today about "cronism" --a woman in our state was hired in a senior position at DSHS by a former colleague from Wisconsin who knew that she resigned in disgrace from similar position in Wis. after two children died on her watch. Agree we need term limits and "real" citizens in gov. But could only get about half way through the video. Just couldn't listen anymore. Felt like I was back in my college course in sociology taught by a radical who really believed in conspiracy theories. I'm just not that synical yet...Think we have problems but don't feel like everyone in gov is motivated by corruptness. Also felt like the video had alot propaganda in itself.
