I got a call this morning and thay had him in surgery then I got there thay were getting him set up and when thay went to sucktion him out I couldent beleave what was comming up he got to were he couldent breath and the Dr said that the tumer had gotten so large that it closed his windpipe off I cant beleave hes halfing to go through this Dr said that if he dont have tha raidation he only has 6 months or less Im trying to be strong but its so hard I wish I could take his place dont know what Ill do when hes gone thank you all for giveing me a place to vent joyces30512

" Joyce: It's very hard for you, I'm sure. My husband was just diagnosed with tongue cancer and he also has a nodule on his thyroid. He has a trach and it's very painful for him. I've taken FMLA from work and I suction him all the time. He goes for his radiation therapy in a few weeks, although I'd wish they do it sooner.
My prayers are with you. Stay as strong as you can and God will see you through this difficult time. "

" hi i had a trach for awhile thought i would die. worse thing ever. after fighting this cancer for 9 years i now have started chemo again yesterday. good luck and godbless "

" hello,my dad also has a trach and its been a journey I will say that.I was caring for him when he left the hospital and did the suctioning and caring for the trach.it is getting better over time but it sure can take a toll on you and your loved one.stay strong and pray! "
