New Diagnosis

I was recently diagnosed with Esthesionueroblastoma, a rare cancer of the nasal cavity. I have had surgery, and am going to MD ANderson for treatment options... possible radiation. Im nervous, scared, and hate not knowing.

Has anyone ever heard of this type cancer, or can you help me understand what radiation will do to me? Will I lose my hair?

Thanks,
Sirena

" Hi Sirena, my husband had radiation on his face. I don't think it makes you lose your hair but it can make you lose feeling in the area where treated. It also redens the area but I don't think it lasts. My thoughts are with you, it must be very scary. Be strong and be brave. Carolyn "

" Thanks, I was told you would lose hair in the area that they targe, eyebrows, eyelashes and possible thinning of hair on my head. Im just now reading all the issues of eating and mouth sores, lackof saliva... wooow..... Long road ahead..... "
