I am desperate, and have increasing pain from nerves. I use a power chair, haven't worn shoes for months, cannot stand or walk, and the nerve pain (originally caused by foot surgery) has the following feelings:
Pressure, like exploding pressure in each toe and metatarsal area, also like there's a vice-grip on each foot and it's been getting tighter for 3 weeks, each day. I'm terrified. (Also numbness, tinging, and constant pain which NEVER lets up. Nothing helps, except ice packs strapped tightly on both feet. I worry about causing gangrene. No narcotics help - even the biggies. VA pain management doc says he's never HEARD of a nerve block for feet?!?!! How can I believe this? CAN ANYONE OUT THERE HELP ME FROM SOMEONE's EXPERIENCE? In June, I lost the ability to control 3 fingers. Each onset was sudden and permanent, although each lost ability on separate days. (If I make a fist, I cannot pull the affected fingers back up). My doctor just looks confused and offers methadone! I asked for a neurology consult some time ago, but do not think I am going to last until it comes. Anyone with any diagnosis information that i can look into? Anything at all will be better than my doctor, who is HEAD OF THE PAIN CLINIC. It's outrageous, isn't it? Thanks for any help or suggestions. Posted on 07/02/09, 12:07 pm |
