HPV Support Group

some doctors have great bedside manners and some suck at it! We as patients (especially women) need to demand that doctors/their offices listen to us! Don't be afraid to speak up...After I recieved the call from my doc's office letting me know that my PAP was normal but my HPV test came back as positive..I was stunned and just didn't know what to say. After about an hour I called back and spoke to the nurse on shift...then I actually called back almost everyday for almost two weeks asking questions/concerns that I had. At first I felt guilty for "bothering" them..BUT THEN ..I could care less!! Their job is to not just see me once a year but to provide me w/ info about what's going on w/ my body and how to deal!! I'D CALL BACK HER OFFICE AND SEE IF SOMEONE COULD WALK YOU THRU THE RESULTS AND WHAT THEY MEAN. DON'T FORGET TO WRITE DOWN ANY QUESTIONS BEFORE YOU CALL SO YOU DON'T FORGET ANYTHING!!

i'm definitely going to write a list of questions to ask. honestly at the time, my mind went blank from her UTTER RUDENESS. you could tell she just wanted to get out of the room , it's almost like she was disgusted by me.

trust me she wasn't disgusted by you..just doing what some docs do..treating a patient like a number..and assuming that since they see it all the time that I think that they forget the impact . If she continues being cold..you may want to think about switching doctors
