In March, I was diagnosed with HPV high risk. I had no signs of warts or the low risk strain. I had been with my then boyfriend for a year and a half, and since we had just broken up (in March) I figured it'd be a good time to get tested.
As is my natural tendency, I freaked out and overloaded on vitamins, info, and sleep. I just wanted to get the virus OUT. I met my (now) boyfriend shortly thereafter in April. I don't know if this is disgraceful, but I did not tell him I had HPV hi risk. My gyno said it was pointless to tell him because basically all guys have it. We've been sexually active since early June. Now...Three days ago.. six months after we started having sex, I found a like 5 tiny genital warts on my inner labia. I went to my gyno (a different, far more evil one) and she just said "Oh, a few tiny ones. Want me to get rid of them?" and then doused my vaj in acid. After 2 days of burning, they're gone. She didnt give me much explanation, it was a night time office visit and it was clear she wanted to go home. My question is... did my current boyfriend give me this new, low risk strain of HPV? or do you think it's an additional assett of the one I was diagnosed with in March? I cry every hour, on the hour. I don't even care about myself, as much as I do my boyfriend... If i EVER gave him warts, I'd kill myself. But then again, did he give them to me? Is there a way of knowing?? And what do I tell him?? I want to tell him I have HPV, but since the warts are gone (burned off via acid) I am inclined to just leave that part out. I know I can't though. Has anyone ever been in a similar situation??? I have anxiety so bad that I can't breathe. Please please help. If there is anyone on here that is knowledgable about HPV , preferably low risk, I would appreciate talking to you so much. I just feel like I have nowhere to turn. I keep googling things, and ending up on websites that probably arent credible. Posted on 10/28/09, 09:10 pm |

Remember to breathe girl!!! As far as knowing who gave it to who that's a mystery as far as that goes. Just bite the bullet and tell him about the warts/high risk hpv because he needs to know ,and you'll have a lot less anxiety about it all. It's human nature to want to point the finger at someone for contracting an std but it's a waste of time, really. Everyone knows that if you have unprotected sex you're taking that risk. And low-risk HPV is like next to nothing, it's annoying at worst.
Google "asha std" there website is extremely helpful about information about low-risk HPV. They also have a great chatboard too that you can join to get answers and more support. E-mail me any time. I know how painful this all is. Be well.

This is what I HATE about doctors! I have HPV GW. Thay are nothing to freak out about. You do not have to have sex with someone to get them. They are internal and nothing to really worry about. GW are just classified as a STD because you can give them to your partner. I was having sex before I knew what they were and no one got it. GW is a virus that women get. It's just one of those women things that we have to deal with to make our lives easier (yeah please.) So just relax. You have nothing to be worring about. JUst go to the drug store and buy some Doctor Scholl's Wart remover and use that on your warts as often as you need. It works! Sure it stings a little when it get put on but it's way better and cheeper then going to the doctor. It's the same 12% product that the doctor uses. So relax, go get yourself some Doctor Scholls Wart remover and a huge bag of candy and enjoy your Halloween! Happy Halloween!!! :)

BLUEJEAN: You sound like you have both high risk HPV ( the strain that increases your risk for cervical cancer) and low risk HPV (strain that causes genital warts..either inside or surrounding the gentital area)..high risk doesn't cause warts. I WOULDN'T USE DOCTOR SCHOLL'S ON YOUR GENITAL WARTS!!! The strain that causes genital warts and those found on feet/hands/etc AREN"T the same thing! This is something that should be seen and treated by a doctor.
To help your body fight/suppress the virus you should be: 1.no smoking/drinking 2.exercise, eat healthy (lots veggies/fruits/leafy greeens 3. Tkae multi w/ folic (may even want to take an additonal folic supplement also) 4.try not to stress..stress weakens the immune sysytem 5. Go to the website for "papillex"..natural supplement w/ 10 potent ingrediants know to help boost/support the body's immune system to suppress/clear the virus..making it dormant/unable to be transmitted

Everything you will read about GW's will tell you NOT to use OTC wart remover on your GW's. As Roses said....those on your genitals and those on other places on your body ARE NOT from the same virus strain. Roses is also right that it would appear, as myself, you have both a high risk and low risk. My high risk cleared up within 3 months...I had a colposcopy and a LEEP. The warts are still around now 18 mos later....but they are nothing more than a pain. I am using Aldara cream...and it seems to work, ever so slowly! :-)
Also, GW's are not something that just women get. Most men with it will not show symptoms...they are just carriers...but the guy I had sex with actually had a wart we found after mine. I had never had sex with anyone before so we knew it came from him. You need to tell him because even though your warts may have been burned off withthe acid...your body is probably still carrying the virus.
