    my problem with all these 12-step programs is that insurance will not pay for alternative treatments because AA is the main one that catapulted this nonsense that alcoholism is a disease...a biological (otherwise insurance would not cover it) one that it somehow swears it can fix by helping you with spirituality.

    originally I took large amts of AZT(by today's standards)- I was totally intolerant to it.  Lot's of vomitting.
    Then the 3 drug regimines came out and a tried AZT with Crixivan and tried the dd's for the third drug but they gave me peripheral neuropathy.
