Truvada with Kidney disease

Are there others on this forum that take truvada and have some form of kidney disease. I am a long term survivor. My combo consist of Reyataz, Truvada and Norvir. I have had great sucess with keeping my viral load below detectable levels. This combo agrees with me pretty well over all.

I have developed stage 3 kidney disease and severe osteoporosis. I have read some literature that elements of Truvada do effect the kidneys. I see a Nephrologist regularly and discuss the issue with him and my HIV specialist. It seems they feel that the benefits of being non detectable out weighs the side effects of kidney disease at this time. They say in the future that there may have to be a change in meds.

Anyone know anything about this or can share any info?

" Hi I have just started taking Truvada, less than 2 weeks
with Kalentra, I was advised that it can indeed affect your kidneys,
prior to this I guess I was on an old combination therapy
of Kalentra, 3Tc and D3t, which I have taken for 12 years and tested positive 27 years ago, the D3t has caused facial wasting and
loss of fat in my legs and ass. I hope you can find
answers for your problem "

" I have taken Truvada since I was diagnosed. So far so good on my kidneys, but I hope they can modify yours to help. "
