Hello everyone!

I have been reading many posts here and i am very impressed. It actually changed the way I view this disease. I myself am negative but I want to help people locally who have HIV/AIDS. i want to help educate people about how this is a virus, not a death sentance. I want to educate people on how if you are infected, you are still a person, someone who is an asset to the community and not a burden.
If you have any advice for me, if if i am out of line please let me know. Take care and stay well everyone!

" The best way to help is by working with local agencies, not by going it on your own. There are all levels of places that need help, from faith-based and other non-profits to commercial agencies. Also many types of services, such as giving rides to people who need to be taken to appointments, working in counseling and testing, lobbying legislatures for better treatment, creating ad content, etc.

" Sounds like good advice to me. I wasn't about to go out on my own and help, I have been in contact which does excately what you had mentioned above. I also have a few people that are interested in charity work so hopefully I can get them to help as well. "
