i have thought more about this and have come to a conclusion that hiv is largely a scam. why? let's think about it...
the tests are said to only be 99.9% accurate (or whatever, basically they aren't 100% sure.) so for every 1000 people, one of those people will be given an absolutely false reading. how many people are said to be hiv+? millions worldwide. so there are thousands of misdiagnosed people. second part. when you go get tested, they ask you who you had sex with. what the hell? that is irrelevant if you believe that hiv can happen to anyone. the truth is they are fudging the results to demonize certain groups of people: the blacks, the gays, and drug users. why? because they are haters. then, they offer you drugs that "treat" the "problem"...often these drugs make you feel even more sick (diarrhea, nausea, etc) than you felt before. they are known to cause damage to vital organs yet they are said to be healthy. if you took a street drug that caused these things (like alcohol), then the doctor would tell you "stop taking it, it's bad for you"...but suddenly when your doctor is profiting from your situation or "illness"...then suddenly he or she says it's okay! What a scam if i've ever heard of one! Big pharma basically rapes people of their sanity and money, and it's time to wake up people. Realize you have been lied to on a global scale. Government pays most of these researchers, and the researchers don't get paid to look for alternative theories or cures (they rarely find cures for anything as 'deadly' as hiv or cancer..only expensive treatments). Why? So they can charge you and arm and a leg and keep you poor. In the club rich, you don't want any competition so you try to stomp out the little guy or buy him out. I'm sure some of you will try to say you don't agree...but let's look at the simple fact...1% of the population owns 95% of the wealth. Are you in that 1%? I bet if you're reading this, you likely aren't...you're probably middle class who works your butt off but struggles financially and has amassed debts. Gonna play devil's advocate here and say if you want to take these poisonous pills...go ahead. It's up to you to decide what you put into your body..but basically if it feels bad, it's bad for you. hhhhhhhmmmmmmmmmmm, I have issues with "westerm" medicine too but partner would be dead if wasn't for hiv meds, he almost was and then started them about five years ago, he has a good quality of life now, again.............................just calls em as I sees em..............................

As someone that has actively worked as an activist, I would say you are barking up the wrong tree, in my opinion. Your angst should quite rightly be directed at your Gov't. for creating such a monster. I will just say that in my 8 yrs as a Security Specialist/Nuclear/Biological and Chemical, in the USAF, the very stuff we taunt other countries for having, we still have in our coffers of weaponry, such as: curddling blood agents, nerve gasses of different kinds, a sneezing and vomitting agent that is so small it penetrates all known gas mask filters, causing you to sneeze and vomit incessantly, choking on vomit or taking mask off so the really nasty stuff will get you....just to name a *few*! There's no doubt in my mind that HIV/AIDS has man's fingerprint on it, and who knows, there very well may be a cure and Big Pharma needs to recoup Research and Developement?! But for those we miss dearly that went through all the aweful meds predating my own infection, I salute them! The meds I take have saved me both from my Hep B from the US Military's tainted blood given during an appendectomy (Atripla) and my numbers now are great. I certainly do not agree with much of what has been said, and rather than alarming or upsetting fragile emotional states on here, I would recommend you use your energy towards an ACTUP Chapture. Fanaticism of ANY kind is NOT Critical Thinking, rather alarmist, 'the sky is falling', while possibly in denial of your own condition by projecting these thoughts, possibly causing someone to just gve up and stop taking thier meds and indeed die. Thinking before and where one speaks is prudent, no matter how strongly your own beliefs are. Peace

I agree with Tim and Doc, I am thankful every day for my meds. Wish they were less expensive, but I have minimal side effect and frankly feel better all the time.

It isn't a scam. I am living proof. I was having fatigue, and so I decided to get tested and came up positive. Also, my CD4 count has dropped to 225. How can that be a scam?

I agree, you go off the meds, you die. I have done wonderfully well on the treatment and am thankful that I have them. If I didn't have them I would have been dead a year ago. I feel pretty good. Have some mood swings now and again, but is normal, considering. But do have sleeping problems, anyone else have problems sleeping?

well, this is what you get Number4940 when you give this information out to fellow positives. They will deny you attack you and refuse to reithink their diagnosis. This is why I say nothing. I was without medication for 20 yrs, and met many who are also the same.
Western Blot and Elisa tests are not accurate. Otherwise, the man who was sent to 3 clinics should have had the same test results and he did not. It's a measure of protein markers. 3 markers for Africa, and 5 for N America, and it's different depending on the country you are in. Please keep in mind that AIDS is real, but we need to continually reassess and circumspect the HIV causes AIDS paradigm. Sorry you are being attacked, but perhaps keep this info to yourself. Join a HEAL group or aliveandwell.org. As for the people who want to take meds, just keep in mind that it is your belief system that makes your path to health stick. Whatever you believe in is great because it works for you, I hope. Just don't attack someone who doesn't believe in taking meds. That's really disrespectful, arrogant, and mean spirited.

Naturalwonder: As in most things, I agree, however you are a relatively new to this site. You will learn over time that some people although well intented, are in fact insane. My suggestion is that you read someone's journal first. (in other words, there is a difference between someone taking a position other than our own and someone who is just nucking futs).
