i have thought more about this and have come to a conclusion that hiv is largely a scam. why? let's think about it...
the tests are said to only be 99.9% accurate (or whatever, basically they aren't 100% sure.) so for every 1000 people, one of those people will be given an absolutely false reading. how many people are said to be hiv+? millions worldwide. so there are thousands of misdiagnosed people. second part. when you go get tested, they ask you who you had sex with. what the hell? that is irrelevant if you believe that hiv can happen to anyone. the truth is they are fudging the results to demonize certain groups of people: the blacks, the gays, and drug users. why? because they are haters. then, they offer you drugs that "treat" the "problem"...often these drugs make you feel even more sick (diarrhea, nausea, etc) than you felt before. they are known to cause damage to vital organs yet they are said to be healthy. if you took a street drug that caused these things (like alcohol), then the doctor would tell you "stop taking it, it's bad for you"...but suddenly when your doctor is profiting from your situation or "illness"...then suddenly he or she says it's okay! What a scam if i've ever heard of one! Big pharma basically rapes people of their sanity and money, and it's time to wake up people. Realize you have been lied to on a global scale. Government pays most of these researchers, and the researchers don't get paid to look for alternative theories or cures (they rarely find cures for anything as 'deadly' as hiv or cancer..only expensive treatments). Why? So they can charge you and arm and a leg and keep you poor. In the club rich, you don't want any competition so you try to stomp out the little guy or buy him out. I'm sure some of you will try to say you don't agree...but let's look at the simple fact...1% of the population owns 95% of the wealth. Are you in that 1%? I bet if you're reading this, you likely aren't...you're probably middle class who works your butt off but struggles financially and has amassed debts. Gonna play devil's advocate here and say if you want to take these poisonous pills...go ahead. It's up to you to decide what you put into your body..but basically if it feels bad, it's bad for you. Although I don't agree with all of this, the thought has definitely crossed my mind... many times.
I for one agree with the fact that even if there were a cure, it would be supressed because there's more money to be made on treatments. And I often wonder what would have happened if I never started taking meds. I went off my meds after taking them for a while, and my viral load skyrocketed and my t-cells plummeted, to numbers that were dramatically different than before I had taken the meds. Anyway. Toodles!

No, you are wrong. The ELISA is something like 98% accurate and specific. A follow-up western blot is more like 99.998% accurate and specific. Further testing, and patient background history (has the person had a chance to be exposed to the virus, etc) can bring the accuracy up to 99.99999998% or better.
The antiretroviral medications available today are very far from "poisonous". Most people experience either very mild and tollerable side effects, or no side effects at all. Quite a few people do have adverse side effects, but few have problems so bad that they need to switch medications.

Doesn't matter what numbers you crunch, some people will still be misdiagnosed.
And, you fail to see how they discriminate and ask you about the sex. That is irrelevant in determining risk. Why? If you say you had to sex, then they try to explore other causes, then if you say you had, say, gay sex with a drug user, now the case is basically closed and they figure you have hiv before the results even come in. Talk about discrimination! They tried to give me a combination of 3 types..and I got sick like I'd had the flu. They still said it was "necessarily"! If they say it's okay, they expect us to believe it is? Oh no, not here. Hope all of you proceed with caution. You have all been lied to.

And another note about HIV testing. Say, for example, a test is deemed to be 95% accurate (let's assume it is).
Someone tests positive. What are the chances this person is or is not? The answer is 50/50. Why? Let's assume that 5% of the population or sample of 10,000 is hiv+ (we have to assume because our inaccuracies in testing cannot allow certainty). 9,500 are predicted non-users 0,500 are predicted users now on to the test results, which are considered for this example to be 95% accurate (considered...) of the 9,500 predicted non-users, 5% will receive a false positive (per accuracy of test). This results in 475 false positives. of the 500 predicted users, 95% will receive a 'TRUE' positives (per accuracy of test). This results in 475 true positives. So, you see the result of true and negative positives is both 475/475. Flip a coin folks! These tests are unreliable (50/50), and don't let some government-paid researcher tell you otherwise. If the mathematics are confusing, sorry. This I borrowed from an article written by a woman with an IQ (consistently) over 240. Her name is Marylin vos Savant. I'd trust her over some pea-brain scientist any day. Remember the scientists used to teach (in textbooks) that we could only sense certain tastes on certain parts of our tongue. This is now considered to be false. Some of these scientists are useless. Live your life and let them starve for funding when the rest of us discovers the truth: they are powerless. Period.

Eventually there would be a 100% positive result though, right? I mean if a person's blood is taken, and there is the virus in there, and it goes untreated, won't it start taking a toll SOMETIME?
Eventually a person is going to know for sure. If you take blood and there is NO virus, don't you know immediately?

There's always some "new" and "deadly" virus that the media scares people with, and there's usually some costly treatment or harmful vaccine that comes around later. Really the flu in history has killed more people than any pop-culture virus. It's just about selling news and advertising and getting people to buy stuff (newspapers, etc). If a test is not considered 100% accurate, then there's ALWAYS a chance it will be wrong, including even if you take it 100 times. You might think these chances are slim, but consider out of how many spermies you as a sperm raced against to get to the egg..lol...the odds were staggering! millions of other ones competing with you, but you made it! So, yea, and consider that the body can remove bacteria and such from the blood and excrete it in urine. If the body is sick, it will get a fever to kill the virus or bacteria, and when the fever is gone, so is the threat. Do you have a fever? No? Then you aren't sick with a bacteria infection NOR a virus. Period. Your body doesn't lie. When it is sick, it'll let you know... These scientists have screwed us over and over again. Nasa even hides things from us that they think would be "harmful" if most people knew...such as if they knew aliens existed. Imagine the typical reaction the average person would have; they'd probably be horrified and lose their religion, literally. Then, well, I'll just let you imagine. lol. Common sense and good reasoning go a long way in spotting the liars. The truth is so simple once you see it. The more complicated the story gets...that's when you know someone is lying. Why? Cuz lies need more lies to cover up the old ones. So to spot a liar, you listen over time and eventually you'll notice how much their story becomes increasingly complex. They'll never escape their endless cycle of lying because they never speak or seek the truth. Good luck to everyone. I'm not saying thte medications are all bad...but they aren't all good either and neither are the doctors and scientists. The government funds most universities and researchers with grants...anyone with half a brain can see that the government lies to them with a straight face. :)

Thank you Dr. Duke for your info. As always you are very helpful to this support group.
I will continue to listen to my doctor and will stay on Atripla treatment until a cure is found. If the big pharmaceutical companies will never find the cure then I will be more than happy to pay for Atripla in order to keep the virus from replicating. I am happy that I can get up every morning and have a normal life because of my medicine. The side effects are very minimal with the exception of some vivid dreams once in a while, but I have no other major side effects that will disrupt my daily routine and for that I am very grateful to my doctor and the big pharmaceutical companies that developed more efficient medicines with less side effects for all of us living with HIV. Thank you Bristol-Meyers Squib Gilead and thank you Merck for your 20 + years of research to not only present new HIV medicines but for your efforts to find an HIV vaccine and for all other pharmaceutical companies that dedicate their time and resources to find innovative medicines and possibly a cure.

Humans are the reason for most of the world's problems: bombs, fires, "accidents," mental disease...
Be a good little boy and do what big daddy pharma tells you. And your doctor ain't nothing but a tool. Doctors go to school and basically just memorize things. What does that produce? Basically a robot that does no longer ask questions and have a mind of its own. It is programmed to do whatever the books tell it to do! Take your medicine emb. It's killing you while at the same time making you feel better...like so many other things in life: double-edged swords. I have no sympathy for people who do not ask questions, especially of "authority." You people who do exactly as you are told might as well be robots! You do exactly as you are asked to do! You are of no use to a good society composed of freethinking people who design things and invent because those who design and invent possess a free mind which enables them to produce NEW things. You are a symptom of a slave society that does whatever most of its members are told. Well, I'm not a slave of this system because my mind is free. It always has been. They don't tell me to jump and I ask how high, but most people do. Too bad. Take your high doses of lethal poison and basically passively kill yourself. Believe their lies. That is what you were meant to do I suppose. I'll have little part in this deception though. It's like talking to a brick wall with most people. They wouldn't believe the truth if it were to slap them hard in the face. They have lost hope for their own value and self so they turn to some stupid idiot doctor to tell them the path to truth. I'd maybe go to a doctor if I wanted some sutures or staples for a cut, but that's about it. Let the doctor do a physical procedure that has tangible results, but the second you try to tell me to take some pill of which the contents I cannot see, and the game ends there. I don't trust these rich, thieving bastards. They suck the money and life out of you then return to their lavish homes in their fancy automobiles! Of course they'll lie to you in order to protect their lifestyle of fine wine and dining! Same goes to anyone else in this world who lives an exceedingly better lifestyle than someone else. They lie to you so that you stay poor!
