I have thrush 3 times in the past 6 months..I have had shingles 8 times since I was diagnosised in 1995. I am on no meds for HIV but #2 . My T cells have had a gradual decrease over the past year and now they are at 429..the doctor said to come back ina month and check my labs again..if they are the same then we begin medications..does that me I now have AIDS?...and which medications would you recommend for beginiing treatment?..Thanks for reading and PLEASE>.I look forward to any responses

" things keep popping into my head. What about how it used to be "if you have sex with someone who is infected... you will become infected" and now every doctor in the world is telling you that there is a ONE in TWENTY THOUSAND chance that a male will catch HIV from an infected female if they have sex..... one in twenty thousand???? thats the ACTUAL number you can look up... thats saying that even if you have sex with someone who is infected you PROBABLY WILL NOT GET IT..... so where are these supposed MILLIONS of cases of HIV in america coming from???? FALE POSITIVES PLUS its been PROVEN that the CDC has lied about numbers COUNTLESS times. look it up. I could go on for hours here. I myself am hiv negative (just for clarity here) but I have long been interested in this debate as it seems to be the only disease that theres no clear but picture of how it acts... with every other virus they say "this will happen and then this will happen 100%" but with HIV its.... "well we dont know but you might get pneumonia, or diarrhea, or your eye sight may go, headaches... rash... what else can we include here" Look at the people in the early 80s who were getting these CRAZY llnesses and then finding out they were HIV positive after having lesions all over their body and oral thrush.... that NEVER happense today... its UNHEARD OF... not because of meds... im talking BEFORE diagnosis. ROBERT GALLO... the man who allegedly "discovered aids" said HIMSELF that HIV could not possibly cause kaposis sarcoma and that it was the biggest mistake that any of them have made in their careers to say such a thing. but guess what... KS is still included in the "aids defining illnesses" how come you never see poeple who died of "aids" look ANYTHING like the people who died of aids in the 80s??? people die of "aids" but pretty much look like you and me... the "wasting" aspect of aids is GONE, now people die of weird shit like "live failure FROM THE DRUGS" but guess what... they DRASTICALLY lowered the dosage of AZT given to patients and VOILA... they dont lose weight and dont need blood transfusions all the time. DR. GALLO AGAIN said that AZT is SURELLYYYY the cause of MOST of the early AIDS deaths. I could go on for HOURS "

" as for your thrush.... i have a son... he had thrush, so did my friends kid... people get thrush... eat healthier. have you taken alot of antibiotics in your life? that can cause thrusth. take some pro biotics and boom thrush gone... eat some yogurt. i guarantee you can get back to regular health WITHOUT the meds just changes in the way you live. " hhhhmmmmmmmm well yes but whether it was all the truth or not who knows? And I can't ask dead people questions, straight people do have aids tho I can vouch for that. Are you factoring in false positives/negatives? Sure there is always a "grey" area in medicine and things are missed/misdx/lost/wrong etc..

My partner managed to stay off meds for at least twenty five years and waited a bit too long and almost died, he wouldn't be able to survive at this stage in his illness if it weren't for meds, I am suspicious of big pharm and the govt. too but western medicine at some point is usually the only answer...................................

I am still confused about your statements about gay vs straight men, why would a gay man be more likely to contract aids/hiv than a straight one?................................ "

" well it is proven that anal receptive sex (unprotected) is in fact immuno suppressive in itself. Anally deposited semen has a direct link in immune cell destruction. (fact) and ALSO on top of that, anal sex obviously is riskier as far as transmission goes due to easier tearing of anal tissue than say vaginal tissue in a female. Doctors today (look anywhere on google) say that heterosexual transmission has a ONE in TWENTY THOUSAND chance with an infected individual. so if a male has sex with an infected female.... a hundred times... chances are that unless he has a cut somewhere on his penis, hes not getting infected. This is a FAR cry from before when it was "have sex, get AIDS PERIOD" I wont get into the "gay lifestyle" because frankly it doesnt apply to everyone BUT just to throw some things out there. Robert Gallo the man who "discovered HIV" now says that Kaposis Sarcoma has NOTHING to do with HIV at ALL and that it was completely caused by the destructive lifestyle and cofactors of POPPERS, along with anal receptive sex, drugs, alcohol, partying many sexual partners, multiple STD infections. this is the main who does not share a SINGLE view point of mine but now says that HIV could never possibly cause KS and that KS was solely from those factors. As for your partner... you say he wouldn't have lasted without the meds. SO he lasted 25 years without meds? thats "crazy" according to doctors he should have been dead a long time ago. What illnesses did he have? did he used to abuse drugs? anal receptive semen? work out? eat healthy? STRESS of knowing he is HIV positive. and YES... even the dissidents agree that the medicines help AT FIRST because they give your immune system a "last hoorah" for lack of a better term. but after a while they lose their effect and are HEAVILY toxic to your liver among other things. and can (and usually do) actually cause immune destruction! it keeps your HEALTHY cells from replicating as well as the "hiv cells" so its only a matter of time before... massive cell destruction resulting in death. I could go on for hours and have a great answer for any question you may have. I think you should research some more, im NOT saying I'im right... i'm saying we just dont know and the grass looks greener every day on this side of the fence. MAJOR film just came out called "house of numbers" even just watch the trailor! you have MAJOR scientists and doctors saying "HIV IS BULLSHIT AND PEOPLE NEED TO BE TOLD" not jsut one.... theres THOUSANDS of doctors and scientists now saying this. Dont believe what you're told simply because it is what is said by the masses.... at one time the "world was flat" and anyone who believed otherwise was crazy. "

" dang............don't know what to say at this point, KS is caused by a low immune system (It's an old peoples cancer) and have had plenty of "straight" aids cases (male and female) but I don't know how infected. Anyway shaking things up a bit is good, I just think (remember I have been doing this 20 years) that it does exist and people do die and it doesn't look very pleasant from my perspective............................ " I have a friend who is 45. He has been "hiv positive" since the early 80s. he has never taken a single drug and he has never been sick a day in his life. and he is friends with many others who share the same story. He has had several boyfriends who have been positive and taken meds and died right in front of him. The doctors back then gave him like... a year to live or something like that back in 1984 or something just based on his positive test. Back then a positive test meant you only had 5 years MAX to live without meds... and now these days for some reason they say "oh you can live 20 years without meds" they keep changing the ideas behind HIV because it just turned out to NOT be what they said and thought it was in the beginning. Or they give them some new name like a "slow progressor" Personal message me i'd love to go back and forth a little. I"m still trying to learn too. Im not a "dissident" I do believe that HIV exists, but I think that there's other things involved in if it makes you sick or not. "

" Kaposi's sarcoma is caused by a herpesvirus, human herpesvirus 8.
If you are not infected with HHV8 you will never get KS. If you are infected with HHV8, you will only get KS after your immune system gets weak, such as in old age or due to long time untreated HIV infection, or while taking immunosupressive drugs after an organ transplant.. HHV8 can also cause primary effusion lymphoma. "

" I would have to say don't get on meds too soon or it will cause other health damages in your body. The meds are so toxic!!! "

" The best HIV medications have only been available for about 10 years now. So we don't have much data on people taking them for 20 or 30 years yet. However, many people are doing very well, taking them continuously for more than 8 years, and the few people who got into clinical trials before they drug combinations were available to the public, are proving that long-term treatment is tolerable by a good percentage of people.

Recent analysis of the combined results of many different individual studies, have shown that starting treatment earlier, rather than later, is the best bet for long term survival, and for quality of life. For example:

Early antiretroviral therapy reduces AIDS progression/death in individuals with acute opportunistic infections: a multicenter randomized strategy trial.

" When I was diagnosed in 2004 my t-cells were so low I had named them all. My doctor at the time told me I had AIDS. My t-cells are near 195 last visit (after 5 years, so technically I still have AIDS). I never really cared about their name-HIV is HIV.
As for treatment your doctor should recommend the correct path you should take. Good luck and let us know how it turns out. "
