Actually I have two questions that I hope someone can answer..#1..When does a person go from HIV to Aids. I have thrush 3 times in the past 6 months..I have had shingles 8 times since I was diagnosised in 1995. I am on no meds for HIV but #2 . My T cells have had a gradual decrease over the past year and now they are at 429..the doctor said to come back ina month and check my labs again..if they are the same then we begin medications..does that me I now have AIDS?...and which medications would you recommend for beginiing treatment?..Thanks for reading and PLEASE>.I look forward to any responses

" Wow. I've been having this debate in my head since I was diagnosed in January of this year. I wasn't really surprised either. It was always my belief that it was sort of inevitable so I didn't have that emotional denial period. I became really focused on eating well and working out. Luckily, my numbers have been good CD4 steadily up to 495 and VL down from 60,000 to mid 30,000 - all of this with great food and vitamin (mainly B) supplements.

My last results showed a little slip in both numbers so I am a little worried especially the swine flu and my work with the public. Now, I have this sinus crap. Everytime I get a little sick, I naturally get a little anxious.

So, I have a bottle of Atripla that my friend couldn't take and sent to me and a prescription from my doctor in my car when I told her from the beginning that I wanted to be meds free as long as possible. She supports my choice, but is adamant about starting medication. (I request labs every 6 weeks or so).

I research this and I have opinions that concur with JerseyFresh and I have opinions that seem to agree with logic and suggest that I take meds. I still haven't reached a conclusion, but believe me there are some on my dresser in case it gets that bad.

Dr. Duke, I would love a copy of those papers that you have. I think that would help a bit reading some more. Thanks. "
