HIV is not as easy to catch as many people think
but of course, the more you have sex with a positive person, the higher your risk goes....

and i have been told it is harder for a man to catch it from a woman... so that whole prostitute story may not be the actual reason

just goes to show you---you gotta respect the condom &/or know more about the person you are bangin w/o one....

HSV or HIV???
Herpes is manageable and so is HIV now
Herpes will not kill you, just make u a bit scabby from time to time ;)
If you feel dirty and think u r nothing it is not because of either of these diseases, cos so far I have never met any person with either of these conditions who are 'dirty'
I do, however, know extremely intelligent and sucessful people who have herpes and others who have HIV :)
Come out from under your sheet, open your mind, find out about these diseases and also get tested.

If u are talking about herpes have u got any sores??? When herpes infected people are in remission they are usually (although not always) not contagious.
If HIV get a test.

Clean is the opposite of dirty and positive is the opposite of negative, I am clean and HIV positive!!! :)

Well u might be upset your letter is a bit insensitive and offensive for those of us trying to make the best out of our situations :)

First off I stated in my post HSV-1. I did not state HIV. I have in no way insulted that you two. I find it very discouraging that you take it upon yourselves to be ignorant human beings. I have done my research on HSV-1. I have become far more educated on it =. This is my story describing the unfortunate feeling of this happening. If you two did your reading on HSV-1 How do you catch cold sores?
Herpes is an extremely contagious virus. The most common way it is spread is through kissing someone who is also infected with the virus. However, it is possible to catch it by drinking out of the same cup as someone, sharing food, sharing chapstick, or anything else that would cause the mouth of an infected person to come into direct or indirect contact with your mouth. I want to mention I did not get penetrated. I kissed my friend and fooled around. And I do got it, why would I be on here? I'm hear for support, not smart ass comments. I am quitting this site, and living my life.

BEing someone who has had HSV-1 since being a very young child I have to say it can be very inconvenient but I don't think you should feel dirty or any of that other negative stuff. I use a small handheld light system I got from my local chemist as soon as you feel any tingle you put the light on for 3 minutes then hey presto no coldsore. I find it really useful but another thing I have is Acyclovir prescribed by my doc 200mg you take 5 times per day for a week works really well too. Don't be down about having it, you won't always have a sore I only get them when I am really really tired and stressed basically when my immune system is working really hard. Even with my having HIV I don't get them anymore than twice a year max. Steer clear of L-Arginine thats like power food for them coldsores on steads is not a good idea. :) Its in loads of stuff but high doses are found in peanuts. Anyway getting off the point a little. Your not dirty your still the special person you were before and you always will be don't let a little virus get you down its not worth it especially since its so treatable. Big hugs Mikey X
