Hello,
I am an Occupational Therapy student at San Jose State University and have some questions about Guillain-Barre. I have been learning about Guillain-Barre in class, and am interested in learning about how Guillain-Barre has personally affected you. I would greatly appreciate your responses to my questions. 1. How has GBS affected you personally and emotionally? 2. What limitations do you experience in your daily activities, such as self-care, mobility, community involvement, social participation, ect.? 3. Are there any activities that you have a difficult time with that you once did not? 4. What area in your life has GBS had the largest impact on? 5. How do you find support on a day to day basis? 6. How have you coped/dealt with GBS? Thank you very much for your time and input. I look forward to hearing your responses. Regards, Jen K. Posted on 04/28/09, 03:04 pm |

1) There are ups and downs with the illness.
2) Normally I can run and go to the gym but when it comes back I don't feel like getting out of bed. 3) Fine motor skills with my fingers is diminished. I don't play piano anymore. 4) Planning is difficult because my condition changes constantly. I can cope with the tingling in my hands, feet and face but when it is inside my chest or the migraines life is difficult. 5) I have lots of family and friend supports with many praying for me. 6) I try to live my life as normal as it was but no longer try to push through when my situation worsens. Reading about others stories has helped a lot.
