Guillain-Barre Syndrome (GBS) Support Group

My doctors at one point said the menagivtius shot was safe...I ended up in the ER with an increase pain and inability to breath. I refuse to do any vaccinations especially the flu shot.

My medical doctor refused to give me a flu shot said it was to risky.

That is how my mom got GBS.

I asked my family doctor whether i shoud get one or not and he said that with all the information that he had that he would not feel comfortable in giving the flu shot to me.

I have a real problem with the whole flu vaccine thing as it is. There are so many strains and I just think it bogus. I was warned against ever getting one because of the GBS and i wont take any chances.

I had GB in 1976-77. We are not suppose to have ANY shots that are incubated on eggs or chickens. Very important for any shots you may receive in your lifetime if you have had Guillain Barre. Keep up on your zinc and vit c. to avoid getting any flu. Be aware of flu shot clinics and pharmacy's that give flu shot. People with a history Of Guillain Barre are on the list of those who should not get any flu shot, ever!

I'm against the flu shot I would rather get the flu and be sick for a few days then chance getting Guillain-barre again. I didn't get this from the flu shot but I met someone while I was in the hospital who did.

If you watch the AD's on tv they say not to get the shot if you have ever had GBS. So i'm not going to risk it at all.

As you know Lesa I am totally against any type of flu shots since my father in law contracted GBS from it a couple of years ago.
But now with the swine flu shot being given starting this Friday for our township, both Richard and I are not getting it, but since my daughter is exposed to 800 students a day, every day, I am debating if she should get the swine flu shot at least.

We have a young 10 year old girl, 25 miles from our home who contracted the swine flu, and died 2 days later.
She was in perfect health condition, and to died from this swine flu which is so close to home, now really makes me nervous.
I just might post a topic on it, to see what you guys say about it.
Like they are worried about a pandemic but they create such a scare over it, that now the hospitals are returning patients home who think they have contracted it.
In Montreal yesterday, they had 500 swine flu related patients who were scared of having contracted the disease, he said in his statement to the press last night, that 1/4 of the people who went to the hospital was just out of panic, and that 91 had contracted the swine flu, but only 2 were in critical condition, so they say, but they don't always say the real truth when it comes to protect their butt, you know government associated business, like hospitals, ect.....


The all the controversy concerning the swine flu shot, even Dr Oz said on National television, that he will take the shot, but none of his 4 children, nor his wife, so where does that tells us ????
