" I am sorry that I do not have any infor to give you.
I was told that with some one with an AI ( auto immune disorter ) you should not get immunizations because it could make yoru antibodies worse and could make you extremly sick, more so than the illness the shot was suppose to prevent.
I will search and see what I can find for you though. Usualy if you tell them you have an auto immune disease and can't get immunizations they shut up and stair at you. THat has been my experience anyways.

I will get back to you on the immunizations though.

" I offer no comments re vaccinations although I do believe it is a matter of personal choice.

How-eva, these people that say taking ATD's too long can kill you make me nuts!!

Just about every med is metabolized in the liver - so should someone with, say a seizure disorder, not take effective meds "just in case"????

Any doctor worth his/her salt checks a person's liver function during an annual physical. Heck, Advil affects the liver!

And, while we're at it, guess we shouldn't enjoy an occasional glass of wine, either since alcohol affects the liver.

Hmmm...maybe we should stop eating as well.

Dayung!!!!! :) "

My personal thought is that if you are hypO your immune system is not working very good and you can get very sick from the flu shot. I say this because when I am hypO I get sick very eaily and it take twice as long to get to feeling better than if I was normal or hypER.
As for being hypER and taking the flu shot you would have to know how your body reacts the the stuff it is made with.

" Exactly CD. My hubby takes Lipitor, has to have liver tests. My Mom is on 2 high BP meds, has to have liver tests. Most everyone on some prescrip meds needs liver tests, cause meds are metabolized in the liver. Taking liver supplements may help if you have a problem. My liver tests are all good. On meds 3 years. They reverse anyway if you were to stop them. "
