" It's sad but very true, most endos will let us go hypo before they do anything about it. That's why being proactive will help stop it. If you know your lab ranges and where you sit in them, have frequent labs and talk frankly with your doc about all you know, you might make out better. I told my doc I lowered my dose (first doc) and he wrote in my chart I was non compliant. I didn't care,I wasn't going way hypo either. I have a new doc and the other one can shove his "non compliant" where the sun don't shine! Knowing about my disease made me find another doc, if I didn't, who knows where I'd be now? "

" I recently went below the mid ranges (just slightly) so I quickly made changes and lowered my doses (slightly) to get back at mid ranges and a bit above. I know where in the 'normal' ranges of the Free T3 and the Free T4 that I feel my best. "

" What docs all do is when you are already in hypo range, they wait till the next labs, then you go BELOW normal, then they reduce it before heading it off at the pass so to speak...I don't know why they make you go another lab before they reduce it, but they ALL seem to do it like this. That's why you can prevent going below by seeing where the FT4 is and if it is in the .80 range, it will go even lower at the same dose for 6 more weeks, so if you lower it at this point, you won't go too hypo. It's the knowing WHAT to lower it to that's tricky! "

" Yes, as brans says and then the TSH gets driven up sky high and we feel so awful! :-(

If anyone goes below the mid ranges of the Free Ts, now is the time to make the changes. Don't wait for the next labs!
