" Thanks for posting that. So looks like it is better to take it at night, 2 hours after a meal. I can give up my evening dessert. Well maybe haaa!! "

" Hi Dairy, thanks for posting that site. I have always been told to take my thyroid medication on an empty stomach so it was good to finally read something regarding that issue.

Blessings,
Mare "

" Thanks Dairy, this replacement stuff is new to me. Both the surgeon and my pharmasist said take the synthroid first thing in the a.m on an empty stomach. They also say that you should not take any other meds or vitamins/minerals within 4 hours as they bind to the synthroid and make it less potent. I am not sure how accurate it is but have been following it for two weeks now and feel great. "

" Okay so I read this wrong. Taking thyroid replacement in the moring one hour before eating, is the best time to take it.

Wonder about drinking milk one hour after taking thyroid replacement. "

" Sorry, I havnt been following this thread. My understanding of this study is...to take synthroid 1 hour before breakfast. But, from other articles I have read...it was advised to split your dosage into 2 equal parts...once in the morning before breakfast and just before bed 2 hours after eating...no snacks. This is to keep an even level of hormones so you dont bounce around during the day. Im not on replacement hormones so none of this info I post regarding this subject....has been tried my me. If I ever have to have a TT I want to be as informed as I can on replacements and how to use them optimally.

Im sorry if I caused any confusion by posting this. I love to search for new studies and scientific journals for info on graves just to try and keep on top of things and share them with you. Big Hugs...Kathy "

" At another thyroid board I post at, I've read that dosing at bedtime was more preferrable. I don't remember why as it's been awhile since the topic been discussed. Maybe that the thyroid hormones are more active at night?

Take care... :-) "
