TSH level

Hi, I am new here. I was wondering if anyone could tell me what at TSH level of .004 means. I know it means I have a hyper thyroid. But, is this a BAD number? If anyone could help, I would really appreciate it.

TSH stands for Thyroid Stimulating Hormone. Yours is very low so it means your (pituitary, I think) gland is making almost no TSH. That is because you already have so much thyroid hormone in circulation, that you don't need anymore, so you are not producing TSH.

At one point, I was wondering if my thyroid gland might still be a little bit active 3 yrs post radio iodine (silly me) and I quit taking my synthroid about three weeks before my doctor appt. My TSH came back at about 16,000 (not a typo). So because I had NO thyroid hormone circulating, my pituitary gland was pumping out TSH like gangbusters saying "Hey, Is anyone there???" Nobody was there, so back on the synthroid I went.

Hi there....it just means either your t-3 or t-4 (free) is out of whack. If your levels of thyroid hormone are high the tsh goes low because you're making an excess of hormone.Mine was undetectable, at first...now I'm almost in hypo ranges,my tsh came back in 3 weeks after starting meds.I've been on meds 2 years.

My TSH at diagnosis of Graves and Hyperthyroidism was 0.03.
With Graves, it can sometimes take years to get to a level that is classified as 'normal' or within the reference ranges.
The lower the TSH, the more Hyper you are and vice versa.
The higher the TSH, the more Hypo you are.
But as I said....TSH reading only is decieving and any Doctor just testing the TSH is outdated as someone with Graves can have a TSH very low and not be Hyper.

Both FT3 and FT4 should also be tested as well as the TSH to get a correct reading of levels.

    My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
