Has anyone here had a thyroidectomy? HOw are you feeling now. What meds were you started on after your thyroidectomy and how did they affect you? What meds are you on now? Thanks so much for all of your help!!!

i had a throidectomy in 04. i was on methimazole to eliminate the hyperthyroid effects prior to surgery. i was on a beta blocker..propranolol for my arrythmia and tachyardia...heart issues due to thyroid malfunction. after surgery, i was on no meds except for levothyroxine, which is a synthetic thyroid.also can be known as synthroid. the surgery made me an emotional wreck. im still having problems post surgery, and the doctor follows my t3 and t4 levels closely by way of bloodwork. i hope this helps you gd luck.
