  • How to Handle Death of a Parent

Thursday, July 3, 2008 | An Inspiring story

I recently lost my Dad after he had spent over one year in a Nursing Home. He was 93, and is missed by all of my family..
I have said a prayer for him every day since he has passed, and this makes me feel both inspired and connected to him in a spiritual way....Not sure to describe this - but I feel God is bringing us together - even though he has passed on...
Each day is a little easier just...

    Dear God
Please grant me and my family the strength to face, what the doctors tell us today and to be strong for mom.
Please remember all my friends here at DS and get them thru whatever they may be facing.
Please remember Jim and his family as his wife goes thru surgery today.  Be with them and give them strength to help her make it thru this.
    In Jesus Name
    Amen

  • Cherokee Ancestors

Tuesday, November 4, 2008 | An Inspiring story

Something has inspired me to work on my Cherokee geneology in the past several weeks. I knew that my paternal grandmother was full-blooded Cherokee (there was no mistaking it when looking at my father) but I never knew if I had enough information to proceed with declaring myself 1/4 Cherokee blood. • People Who Are Down

Saturday, January 31, 2009 | An Inspiring story

Every day I live I see
How great the world God made for me.
The ever changing seas and skies,
The birds and all the butterflies.
The rainbow high above the trees,
Just to think, God gave me these.
He made the rows of yellow corn,
The sunrise on a winter morn,
    Frosty windowpanes that glow
    Reflecting light upon the snow.
    Spider webs outlined in dew,
The dear Lord even made these, too.
The world is full of ever...

But I am not miserable.  I have not cried in months. I tend to make friends easier and the smile on my face is consistent and not fake. I am living for me... wow, what a concept.  I still am lonely and have no one to talk to.. ...
