I recently got back from my every 2 year eye exam .......and "glaucoma" was the buzz word. I was/still am feeling numb and shocked. I started my quest of googling and the more I'm reading the more scared I'm becoming. I've always found support groups to be very important so I guess this is a good place to start. Hugss to all of you.

Was this at the opticians or the hospital? I expect you will be put on eye drops. Dont worry too much about it, they will probably start you on Xalatan, I am on that one. It will keep the pressure down, and you will have regular eye checks. Nothing too dreadful.
Goodluck.

Thank you for the info :) I had my appointment at the opticians. I've been reading about side effects of eye drops.....kind of scary. In fact, many things about this Ive googled are scary.

I also was very scared when I was told I had the glaucoma. I thought I was going blind, but I was put on eye drops and things got better. Last year I had the laser surgery so no more eye drops fo me. Ask your doctor about the laser. My pressures are good, adn I can see with no problem. AT one point before I was diagnosed I had dark spots in my vision. Good luck to you sandy
