Visual Fields Test

I'd be interested to know if others have the same difficulty as I with visual fields testing. Today, I saw my glaucoma specialist and am doing well but, because I tend to click for the flashing light too often, the visual fields test wasn't adequate, and I have to be re-tested in six months. Any tips? Thanks.

" Oh boy...sounds like I'm in for an adventure. My very first field vision test is schedule in a few weeks. Could someone explain what this test is all about? I have a clicker and click it when a light flashes?? Is that right?
By the way....nice to meet all of you so to speak. I really am a "newbie" as my daughter would say. "

" Automated perimetry: You sit in front of a concave dome and stare at an object in the middle. You press a button when you see small flashes of light in your peripheral vision. Your responses help determine if you have a defect in your visual field.

This is the test we're talking about. Just relax and click when you see the flashes of light. "

" Well. I have a feeling I may have one of these coming up
tomorrow. They said I have an appointment and its been
a while. Sometimes, I can never tell. Some of those green
dots are so faint, some seem to float by, and others...I'll
click...one will come up and I'll wonder...was that an after
image, or was that a dot? click..oops...there's another.
At times, I think, I must have really flunked this one...and
the technical person will say...'You did fine'...so far, so good.
Keep clicking and hope for the best... that's my advise.
or rather, clicking, blinking...and breathing..
Does your machine make a 'gurgling sound'...? "

" Rosa, good to hear from you! You were the first person I talked with on this site. Love your description of this darn test. Thanks for your help. Mine's coming up right after Christmas. Good luck with yours. Hugs, Pat "
