I dont have glaucoma but I do have to use drops (lumigan) because I have high eye pressure. Its working and I dont have any side affects, but I'd love to one day not have to use them. I was wondering if anyone has ever been able to stop using the drops by doing something natuaral to lower your pressure, or is this going to be a life long thing?

" Yes, there is a natural cure for glaucoma. Some of it even overlaps to help cure high blood pressure. Most of it is stuff you already know. My pressures were 20L/24R. In 3 weeks they were 14/14. I never used eye drops and I would never use an eye drop with a listed side effect of blindness. "

" Yes high pressure in the eyes, is glacoma, I never heard tell of a natural cure for glacoma. The eye drops keep the pressure down to keep from going blind hopefully. Most people on eye drops for high pressure in the eyes glacoma.. have to continue using it. "

" I had the laser surgery last year on both eyes, worked great. No more eye drops for me. I just had my yearly check up and everything is still good. The surgery was pain free and took very little time. I was able to drive myself home. I would recommend it to anybody that was given the chance to have it done. "

" Check the side effects of the drops. I thought the drops were supposed to prevent blindness. "

" My father had open-angle glaucoma. He used drops and had several surgeries over the course of about 10 years. Eventually, his pressure stayed low long enough that the drops were DCd. (Of course, by that time, he had suffered a detached retina also, but that's another story.)

Now, I have acute closed angle glaucoma; I had iridotomy laser surgeries in both eyes; one the day after diagnosis, and the other two days later. At diagnosis, my pressure was nearing 50. After surgery and approx. 2 years of drops, I'm still in the low 20s. The drops are $130/month, so I, too, hope they do not last forever.

My sight is worth $130/month, however. If they keep me from going blind, I'll keep using them. "
