Hey all! :)
Ok here's my story i came out in 2005 my family knows my daughter knows i don't care if my family doesnt accept me my issure is with my 13 year old daughter who says she's ok with me being lesbian and tells me to start dating again so i do and she gets so miserable when i do go out. maybe she is jealous. i think it's hard for kids when their parents start dating in any case. being a single mom of an only child is a situation with its own set of issues, whether you're gay or not. your daughter may be supportive of your being gay and dating in her rational mind, but on the other hand she may have abandonment issues. i don't know if there's something in her past to consider in this light, the presence or absence of another parent, etc, but maybe talking to a therapist might help you understand it. you could try talking to your daughter, but i don't know how emotionally self-aware kids are at that age, and it might make sense to talk to an impartial listener.
