ok...so how often to you think this happens? And is it more prevelant then in straight families or just as common? Just curious. My 21 year old daughter claims to be Bi and my 17 year old step daughter is a lesbian.

I have been pondering this post and don't really have an answer. Do you mind if I bring it up at "game night" with my mixture of gay and straight friends and see what they say?

Truthgully I think it happens no more than in straight families however, it in my opinion may be more visible because the GLBT parents are 1000 times more understanding and open to talk and/or support the GLBT children in their experiments and future lifestyles. Make sense?

I have three children G(20) is straight; G(16) states that she is bi, but prefers boys and my B(14) is gay. I have known he was gay since he was very little. I alos have a straight friend at work and she tells me that I am the first gay parent she knows that has gay child(ren) also. I don't think this answers the question well, but I tend to agree with FyreRayne, GLBT parents a more open.

My 2 older sons are straight. My youngest son says he thinks he's bi. As a lesbian mom, I don't care what orientation they are, so long as they become happy and safe young adults in their relationships.
I agree with those who have said it's probably not more prevalent, but simply that we gay/lesbian/bi parents are more open and encouraging of our children's true identieis. My two cents, for what it's worth. Namaste, Trish

I think its more common than I thought thanks to this group. I have three children two of whom are gay.
I think its the luck of the draw when they are concevied. They are who they are. No descions no choices just how they feel. Its just the make up. My children all three are very smart and honor students. Just one is straight LOL Their father and I both straight. Who knows.. Just love them the way they are.
