Gay Parenting Support Group

Hi everyone,

First let me wish good luck to all of you who are trying to conceive, and congrats to all who have children. My story is sad but it is extremely unlikely to happen to you. I am looking for others in my situation and thought some of you might be able to point me in that direction.

My partner and I had our first child last August, a precious baby girl. My pregnancy was wonderful and had no complications. We got to the 39th week and were waiting for labor to start any day. However, we received tragic news at my ultrasound just three days before I was due. Our baby's heart had stopped without any explanation; just days earlier we had heard her heartbeat and all was well. I was induced and gave birth at 39 weeks and 6 days. She was perfect; 7 lbs. 1 oz. and 21 3/4 inches long. We had a blessing, held her all day, and said goodbye. We are brokenhearted, but still very much want a family, so we keep her close in our hearts as we look forward to the future.

We are now trying to conceive again and this month will be my 6th IUI since we lost Angelica. We are using the same donor in hopes of having a biological sibling. I didn't think it would take so long...I got pregnant on my 3rd IUI the first time around. Does this site have a group for gay parents who are ttc? I already belong to the general forums on stillbirth and ttc, which are great, but I was wondering if you knew of any sites more specific to my situation. Since we can not conceive in the usual way, it's different - also our loss as gay parents is sometimes hard to relate to.
