My school tried to start one when I was a freshman [senior now]. The ENTIRE community [a good 23,000 people] was against it. And when I say was against it, I mean protested for weeks and weeks and weeks, and harassed/attacked the LGBT kids at the school. Yeah... not fun. We eventually got it approved, but we couldn't announce meetings, hold fundraisers, put up posters, or really do anything. >.< Altogether, the club had 4 members.
My town isn't very accepting lol...
