I have had many stomach problems and have gone thru this before. When I eat something or take a pill fisrt thing in the morning not long after that my whold body can go numb to the point to were I have to stay in a chair until i feel normal again. I have understood that it comes from when the food first hits a nerve in the stomach. If so is there anything you can do for it. I don't like this feelin sometimes you feel like your going to pass out. I got back to the stomach doc but not for another week and was put on a list to try and get in sooner. Any ideas out there!

" If I may add my input this reminds me of Gastroparesis and not Gastritis. Gastroparesis being the damage done to the vagus nerve in the stomach--perhaps that is what you are feeling and that is why you are going numb? I have both of these things and when I was in the hospital my stomach felt numb to the touch to the point where I would point it out to my docs and they said that perhaps it was due to the testing I'd have done or to the pain killers I was taking. If you don't mind me asking, what types of foods are you eating? Perhaps you could try eating soft mushy foods in the mornings like baby foods until this goes away? For a while after I got out of the hospital I still remember feeling kinda numb in my stomach and then the sensation went away with time. However if you are having difficulties with pills, then perhaps you ought to call your doctor right away and tell him to see if it isn't a side effect or a reaction to the medication causing you to have that--just to be on the safe side. The way I see things it's better to be safe than sorry... (I so need to go back to eating safe foods again... I've been a bad girl eating things I shouldn't... I've been under a lot of stress tho) "
