Hi,I've been battling gastritis most of my adult life. It hit me the hardest back in 1996 where I ended up in the hospital for 3 days and I've experienced it to some degree just about everyday since then.Only God knows if I'll ever get rid of it but he's not telling. So if you want to talk about it and or compare notes on what has helped please feel free to contact me.

" Bless your sweet little heart. I wish I had this site when I first learned..it would have given me such comfort...I know lots of people, but had never heard of gastritis! I've had it for 4.5 yrs now. I take 2 Nexium's per day, liquid carafate, 1/2 elavil for pain at night and then something for IBS called Lebramax, I think...my daughter gave me a tummy flu bug in 2005 when I was recently diagnosed and it really snowballed from there, I mean I felt horrible and lost so much weight. But I'm back up to my normal weight now, and then some...! I still have problems, but this is definitely been my strongest year..as we speak, my tongue is burning, hate it when that happens. The last EGD or colonsopy I had was 12/31/04. My GI spec is in NO hurry to do another one for some reason..I don't want all that trouble stirred up!!!

God Bless you. Keep the faith. I also take 2000mg of non acidc Vit C, sublingual B12/Folic Acid and B6, multi vit, probiotics...I take it all! "

" You poor thing. To have it for so long... I'm so sorry! I've only been dealing with it for a few months, but I also have severe Gastroparesis on top of severe Gastritis. I'm taking a bunch of different medication including Nexium (1 pill 2x's a day), Carafate (3x's a day), Domperidone (20mg 3x's a day), Adavant, Topamax to control migraines, and I've been hospitalized three different times all three ended up almost equalling out to be almost a week each time. I was on pain killers each time I was in because I was in unbearable pain. I have since been put out on disability and have lost my job (the place I worked at pushed me out on disability b/c doc kept pulling me out of work each time I'd have a flare up and finally when I was on disability work had enough and well fired me and put my job up for grabs and said I was welcomed to come back and apply for another job whenever I wanted to... I'm a little ticked off at them if you can't tell.. Sorry for the rant... I'm just trying to cope with a myriad of different things all at once and I feel so useless at this point as I struggle to get better)... Plus I'm supposed to be sticking to my diet and I've strayed... I'm eating things I'm really not supposed to eat--cake, um... chocolate... bad things... and I'm cramping like crazy and I know I should stop but I'm just really upset lol... It's totally crazy here!
