Its been more than one month, that my stomach hurts, I get hurt burn each time I eat, feel thick saliva in my throat throughout the day, and whenever I eat spicy food my stomach hurts really bad, and I have noticed a few times that when I barp acid like fluid has risen up my throat. My appointment with the doctor is not until June 2nd, so I even though I don't have an official diagnosis I would like to know what kind of foods, home remedies or teas have helped to ease the stomach pain? I am trying to avoid the spicy food, I don't drink soda, coffe or alcohol e.g. beeer..and I am trying to relax a bit more, because the past few months have been very stressful.

Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciate, because waiting and not knowing what I have is painful at times.

" You're on the right track with avoiding caffeine, alcohol and managing stress. Also, try taking Pepcid Complete for now - that helps me. Eat small portions during meals, and get plenty of sleep at night. These simple steps will help. Hope your appointment goes well. Feel free to contact me on here. "

" I would agree with Minn. Making sure not to overeat is huge I think. Overeating can cause lots of gas and make the symptoms worse I think. It can be hard sometimes, I know for myself. I think I'm used to eating till I've overate and only eating till I'm full is almost odd for me :)

Also avoid smoking if you do that. I occasionally smoked cigars and those were awful for the gastritis. "

" I thought gastritis was like a stomach bug with vomittling and diarrhea? I guess I'm wrong. Last night I got out of class and stopped at the store. I remember feeling like something was sitting heavy/wrong on my stomach. I hadn't eaten since the morning and that was just a fiber bar. I come home, I'm hungry...right before I decide to get up and fix me something to eat this over whelming feeling of nausea and diarhrea came. Well I just vomitted. I threw up a lot and with nothin in the stomach, it was painful. The top of my stomach was hurting (under my diaphram) I felt weak and shaky after that. I went to bed and about 20 minutes later I was fine. What could that have been? "

" The top stomach pain/burning is a classic gastritis symptom. Whenever you cannot keep food down - or need to throw up - do so. It really helps. Your body is telling you it needs some space to heal. Fast for a day on water alone - and then start eating gentle foods like oatmeal, porridge etc. We all need a break from all the heavy, processed foods we eat. I just wish our culture had a regular fasting tradition that a lot of the eastern cultures do. "
