I think if you are careful and watch you rdiet and takes your meds you can get rid of it but it might come back. At the onset of symptoms start your PPI again and watch what you eat. It can be acute or chronic. Hopefully it is just an acute case for you. I got rid of it in October with prilosec for 30 days and then it came back at Thanksgiving :( Some people hav eit on and off for years. The best thin gis to lower stress and diet.

I am on prevacid once a day and I also take one teaspoon of extra virgin pine nut oil about 30 to 1 hour before a meal in the evening. The pine nut oil seems to coat my stomach lining so that I can at least eat a small meal in the evening before 6pm.

Yes, it is curable - and I hope for all of us on this journey that we all make it there. Specialists have told me that eliminating the underlying cause of gastritis certainly cures it. For me it is weight (I'm 6'0 at 203 lbs) and anxiety from grad school. I'm working on these and watching what I eat. I'm staying optimistic.

I too have seen major improvements after 6 weeks or so of the omeprazole. I also took reglan for some time and some other things as bandaids ifI got really sick.
I also have to avoid really acidic, hard to digest foods, and eating large or late meals. I also have to control my stress. Best of luck.

I've heard some really good things about Extra Virgin Pine Nut Oil. Has anyone else tried it? I just ordered a bottle online.
