I have been pain free for a while now and for the most part am doing fine.
I hardly get any pain unless its related to gerd or being really hungry but usually i can tell the difference because when Im hungry my whole stomach hurts and I start to get a head ache.

well I had this the other day and even after I eat I still feel pains as if I am hungry but when I burp it seems to go away for a second. I do tend to sometimes eat too small of meals because Im afraid of getting reflux or gaining my weight back but Im not sure if its that. I also eliminated beef or pork and treat myself by having one hamburger a yr wich i had a couple of days ago with fries(which I also have once a yr).

so basically what Im saying is this is very unusuall for me to feel this way. alot of times I cant feel if Im hungry untill I actually get that pain I was talking about, does that happen to anyone who is doing fine and fully recovered? even though Im doing fine I find that my stomach dosnt function the same way it did befor i had gastritis or any of these other problems which makes this confusing. sorry if Im rambling. any ideas on why Im feeeling this way or atleast someone who can relate? I mean things like this always freak me out because i feel like its a sign its coming back which gives me great anxiety. and right now as i wrote this Im feeling very dizzy as if I can feel the world spinning very slowly.

thanks in advance.

" I think I can agree. I feel like I'm recovered, but then out of the blue sometimes, a food will disagree with me, and I know what you mean when you say the stomach doesn't function the same way.

I've lost most bloating, but still have some to lose. It's frustrating! Also, I find I can't handle hard boiled eggs anymore, for some reason. I end up running to the bathroom an hour or so later. I would guess the gastritis might cause subtle and not so subtle digestion changes. I hope it disappears entirely soon. Feel better and best wishes! "

" Me me me, I get it.
I have discovered that I will get hunger pangs that are related to upper abdominal gas. I can burp and the pangs will subside and sometimes completely go away. My own theory is that the irritation in the stomach is affected by the stomach expanding with the gas and bloating. I guess the hunger is actually a manifestation of pain but feels like hunger. I believe this is something that is common to those who are at the recovery end of the gastritis spectrum. I have also discovered that gas x tends to help this a bit. "

" sunlovinmom- ya certain foods just dont work for me anymore. like theres the obvious ones like tomatoes, citrus, or hothot foods. but foods like nuts go down so strange. it doesnt give me any pain but feeling it travel down my stomach from start to finish makes me worried.

jim229-what you say makes sense. i forced myself to play tennis the other day even though i had discomfort like i was explaining, but hours later i felt better. so maybe the movement pushed the air out maybe?. but ya I remember months ago when i was completly healed i would still feel hungry after meals but full at the same time, but it would go away after a couple of minutes. i wonder why its lasting for days like it is. but ya i should try the gas-x. " the headache is hard to say. I get headaches all the time but they are muscle stress headaches. Usually starting at the base of the skull and referring to the forehead, temples and sides. I have a head ache now, in fact.
Do you do alot of strenuos excercise? "

" Probably related to more of the excercise and or stress rather than gastritis. Headaches are a way of life for many people. "
