Advice:
Pain meds for back pain that don't upset the tummy

I have severe gastritis and GERD and I also have a lot of back pain issues. But since I developed gastritis and GERD I can't take ibuprofen, or aspirin etc. for my back pain any more because it makes my stomach burn really bad. My Chiropractor gave me some natural anti- inflammatory stuff but that doesn't work at all. Does anyone know of anything that doesn't upset the gastritis or GERD?

" Well, I can't really think of any pain medications that won't affect gastritis or GERD, but have you tried using heat packs or ice packs on the afflicted area? Another thing I have found useful at times when I'm in pain are back pain patches--they attach right to the pain sight--patches like Lidoderm and if you need something stronger, perhaps your doctor could write you something for Fentinol? I'm not sure if these would upset your stomach in any way since they are going on the outside of your back--I have tried the one (Lidoderm) since being diagnosed with GERD and Gastritis and it worked ok since it's being absorbed into the skin. Maybe it'll be something you could try? I hope this helps! Good luck and I'm sorry you are having such problems! "

" Thank you for your advice Takara Sky, I have tried Lidoderm but that did nothing for me, but I haven't tried Fentinol. As soon as I can I'm going to go to the doctor to ask her about all this, I just haven't had the time or money : ) Thanks again! "
