Advice:
Home remedies or medicines for Gastritis bloating?

I used to get cramps on my stomach every single month, and it seemed like it was timed because it never failed to show up. My stomach would start bloating at around 4:00 pm and by night (9:00 pm) it would be so uncomfortable and painful I can't even lay or let anything touch my stomach or back. It would feel like a big, painful ball is stuck on my stomach and back, and I could literally feel it moving as I walked. I would sometimes get fevers and nauseas.

The pain would last all night long, and sometimes I would throw up which would somehow help with the pain, but it wouldn't go until the next morning... this lasted for about 5-7 years? I never got it treated, other than being taken to the emergency room a couple of times and just being given things like Maalox and Gas-X, never really helped.

Well, yesterday after about 5 months of no pain I got those same stomach cramps again and I can't stand it! I feel my stomach bloating up right now and I'm afraid I'll get no sleep again. I want to go to Walgreens or something to get something which will help cure the pain, and tomorrow I'll make an appointment with my doctor (FINALLY have insurance, yay!) to get it checked out.

But, in the meanwhile, is there anything I can do to relieve the pain? At least keep it down a bit? Please help! :(

" Sorry you're not feeling well.I have had pain for about a year now and I just recently was diagnosed with severe gastrits. It sounds alot like what you are experiencing. My GI DR. prescribed Nexium daily and told me to take Mylanta or some other form of antacid before every meal and before bed. Mylanta liquid works the best for me and also what helps is a hot water bottle or a heating pad in the area you are experiencing pain. I still get the pain everyday but I am only 3 weeks into the Nexium but the mylanta helps take the pain away I take it with meals and when I feel the pain starts up. I hope this helps keep us posted!!!! "

" I have had gastritis since a stomach surgery and gall bladder out 40 years ago. I have been able to get by with digestive enzymes. I do not get heart burn with natural enzymes. If we have gastritis, it means that our stomach is not able to digest the food we are eating. And even if you take enzymes but eat food that the stomach don't tolerate, which is reactions to allergies and toxic chemicals, the best way for treatment is to stop the irritants that causes gastritis. " One more thing. The best way to get a safe and total diagnosis of your GIs, there is a new method call "pill cam" You can go to the follwoing website and find a doctor in your area that uses this method: www.givenimaging.com. This method is a camara in the form of a capsule, which we can swallow so that it takes pictures of our entire digestive system from beginning to end. The other methods do not reach the small intestines, which is where most of the digestion take place. "
