Sleeve bypass

I had a sleeve bypass on Oct. 6th. I did really well on my post surgery diet. I lost 50 pounds. After the surgery I followed the liquid diet and then the pureed diet and lost another 23 pounds. However now I have been stuck at the same weight for 2 weeks. I know its only been a month, but am I doing something wrong? My cloths are way loser, but the scale is not moving. Also I just started eating soft foods, like eggs and cottage cheese. Sometimes I feel hungry. Is that only in my mind? So I over-eat, and then get a stomach ache, but no vomitting or anything. I eat like 10 or 15 bites instead of like 5. I'm worried that I'm going to ruin all my hard work, since a sleeve bypass doesn't cause dumping, I don't have serious enough consquences. Please help!!

I originally wanted to have the sleeve, but my insurance didn't pay for it. After additional research , and conversations with the surgeon, who did both types, I decided to go ahead with Gastric Bypass, and am glad with how my results have been.
I would not be concerned about the 50 lbs. lost, and now a plateau. We all lose at different rates, regardless of type of surgery. Certainly if you are eating "more" than your nutritionist or surgeon have recommended, that isn't good practice. Don't want to stretch things out or make yourself feel uncomfortable and sick. I'd suggest you work on portion control. If you should be eating 5 bites instead of 15 at this stage, make sure you only have enough food on your plate for those 5 bites. Easier said than done? Well, try and remind yourself of your accomplishments so far, and also that you don't want to sabatage your own surgery. Are you exercising? Maybe increase the distance you walk or your repetitions to jump start things again. Good luck. Cindy

Sleeve? Is this the same thing as banding?

No. There is no re-routing the intestines and the majority of the stomach is removed. You are left with a stomach that holds between 1/4 cup and 1/2 cup of food. There are no malabsorption issues either. The stomach processes everything. No dumping.
