My doc left me a msg telling me that i have this?
What is it? and is it going to affect me in getting my surgery which should take place towards the end of this month. Please help me out and give me all your info ive been trying to get this surgery for about a year an a half and know that its here i will hate to see it get postpone. Posted on 11/05/09, 02:11 am |

I was appaently tested for H. Pylori during surgery and came back positive. The docs said they want to treat me for this but will wait until I am back on solid foods. The standard treatment appears to be a strong course of antibiotic along with something like omeprezol. I can't say that this will or will not delay your GB. But even if it does, the delay should not be much more than a week or two.
Search the group for H. Pylori to see other peoples experiece with this. At most, this should be a minor bump in the road.

You don't say what it is you have but, if it is H. Pylori than it can be taken care of fairly easy. I also had it before surgery and was put on agressive antibiotics for 10 days. I was than able to have surgery. I will be 1 yr. out in Dec. 2009, have lost approx. 115 lbs and feeling marvelous. Good luck to you..Happy losing!!!
